Live a Little

Live a little - breathe, oh the privilege, of being alive, staying alive, so dance and push boundaries that hem in.
Woman enjoying being near the ocean, letting her hair down

On a nice warm day, wind blowing and a curtain flowing with the breeze

LIVE A LITTLE

Throw open doors, windows,

Untie those fences,

Allow creatures big, small,

To venture into your fold.

Dance away, push

Those boundaries

That hem in,

Live a little

Winds swirl, air breathes,

Grass grows unattended,

Birds fly uncalled

In arrhythmic rushes.

We are in this together,

You and I.

In over our heads

So let’s live a little, shall we!

Looking for faults in your skies,

are you?

Stop!

negotiate a new route,

one back in, not back out.

Pace it, live a little!

Girls enjoying reading in a relaxed setting

Dig in those heels,

shuffle up some earth.

good tidings juggle,

plain boredom back soon I hear.

Signals are up, no fear.

Live a little, now!

    Let go
    Dance a lot
    Smile, sit, slip, slide
    Potter around

    Live a little!

Indeed—dance a lot is the best, which I do. I hope you do too.

Men Without Women ~ Haruki Murakami

Murakami’s construct leaves all of his stories open to a myriad interpretations, and that’s the beauty of his narrative.
He manages to etch distinct characters in each of his tales with remarkable dexterity and the Murakami mind observes quietly, much like the Lamprey, who live off life itself. I was agog by the sheer brilliance of an imagination that defies coherence yet draws you in, makes you believe.

The Firebird ~ Saikat Majumdar

The Firebird ~ Saikat Majumdar

Majumdar writes with great sensitivity- delving deep into the young lad’s mind, drawing from both the light and the dark that exist in tandem within. Ori senses the resentment his mother’s stage life provokes in others around him, the family and neighbours.
